Happy New Year! First and foremost, I apologize for my hiatus. Between computer problems (my good ol’ MacBook is back in action…finally!) and the holidays, not to mention my winter intersession class, yuck, I’ve had what I believe to be a much-needed respite. I’m back, though, fully prepared for what this year has to offer and that includes keeping up with 2010’s found passion, Sprinkled with Love! I am humbled by the viewership traffic and warm comments both on posts, as well as in person. I hope they keep on coming in the upcoming year! As I rang in 2011, I made myself a few promises I intend on sticking to this year starting with blogging more often (#1).

#2. Be greener. I am one of the guilty Poland Spring bottle abusers…my family buys big cases of them and therefore there is always one in my purse. Shame on me. The Playtpus Softbottle, as seen below, on is super nifty and great for on-the-go! When you’re done, all you have to do is roll it up and reuse later. Nalgene bottles and the like are of course another solution. I also hope my roommates and I start recycling more. I intend on bringing my own eco-friendly bags to the grocery store to limit my plastic/paper bag usage. Little things along these lines go a long way. We can all reduce our carbon footprint!

#3. Don’t stress about trivial matters, especially when they are out of my own control. Do I need to go into great detail on this one? I don’t think that is necessary…

#4. Appreciate the little things. Congratulate, thank and encourage the hearts of others. Positive reinforcement goes a long way. Remind friends and family that I love them often because I am blessed to be surrounded by such remarkable people.

Life’s a beach

#5. No gym = not an option. Exercising gets the endorphins flowing and works out my frustrations. It is a necessity for both my mental and physical health so no excuses.

“We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives…not looking for flaws, but for potential.” Ellen Goodman
